How will this coaching happen?
Jeff uses Prepare-Enrich to help couples navigate important relational dynamics, expectations and customized relationship challenges. All marriage coaching with Jeff will tackle the topics of:
- Communication, assertiveness and active listening
- Personal stress, identifying critical issues and resolving conflict
- Family or origins’ influences and the couples’ relationship map.
- SCOPE profile and marriage goal setting
You can also get extended coaching to tackle specific marital challenges such as,
- Financial goals and agreement
- Roles and responsibilities in the relationship
- Sex and affection
- Children and parenting
- Leisure time and activities
- Faith and Spirituality
Prepare-Enrich consists of each individual in the couple filling out an assessment survey that helps determine the strength and growth areas of the couple. It also measures each person’s satisfaction and idealistic distortion which helps couples understand each other’s starting place for the conversations to follow. Couples will receive workbooks to complete assignments to reference through the coaching sessions, which will consist of the couple and the coach reviewing the determinations of the assessment and practicing conversations and skills from the workbook to help couples navigate differences and find common language to boost marriage confidence. The assessments are research based and you can learn more about the 40+ years of marriage research by visiting www.prepare-enrich.com
In addition to marriage coaching Jeff is also passionate about coaching people navigating Church Hurt. Jeff knows whether your faith community has experienced a split, or you’ve felt overlooked, ignored or taken-advantage of, Jesus never wants us to confuse the failure of pastors or leaders for faithlessness on His part.
Jeff experienced his own season of church hurt when the church he worked at for almost a decade suddenly fired him. Through a journey of prayer, confrontational conversations, and education, Jeff came to understand the systemic issues within many churches that cause people to be treated as disposable parts in the machine of ministry.
Maybe you’ve had a leader you’d describe as a “wolf in sheep’s clothing” or had your pastor tell you something in a one-on-one conversation, but say something completely different from the pulpit. Perhaps you’re not sure what to do after a church split has scattered your friend group and faith support system. Or, if you’ve put your trust and financial investment into a church community for years, but never felt noticed or known. You are not alone. These are common issues that many Christians have experienced in mainline churches and non-denominational communities.
Jeff can talk you through your personal journey of pain in the church. Together, you can explore the biblical narratives where faithful people, trying to obey God, faced betrayal, rejection and hurt from those they previously called leader or friend. If you desire to have confrontational conversations that will help you find closure, Jeff will reach out on your behalf and arrange a mediated video-chat.

Jeff's Background
Jeff Pilger serves as the Director of Campus One80 in central Pennsylvania serving college-aged students in the workforce and from nearby schools including Penn State, Lock Haven and the CPI vocational school. He works full time as the Director of Youth and Discipleship Ministries at Faith Church in Bellefonte, PA and leads various ministry efforts teaching young and seasoned Christians about faith, scripture and obedience to Christ.
Jeff has been married to his wife, Asia for 20 years and they have three children. His marriage and parenting story includes long-distance relationships, unexpected pregnancies, job loss, church hurt, financial struggle and so much more. Through it all, Jeff and Asia have depended on Jesus, the church and a community of friends and mentors who encouraged them and helped them find the fun and adventure of being team members all through the craziness of life, liking each other through it all and “choosing what we did not choose”, and trying to “outdo each other in showing honor” ( Romans 12:10).
Jeff has had the honor of officiating dozens of marriages and having fun (if not awkward) pre-marital conversations. As a certified marriage coach through Prepare-Enrich, an assessment and skill-building marriage strengthening program, Jeff helps couples prepare well (if engaged), navigate tough conversations and strengthen the skills that lead to fun, affectionate and faith-filled marriages.
