Remedy 2025

Remedy 2025

United Vision, United Voices

In 1989, Back to the Future Part II was released in theaters. The movie paints an absolutely insane picture of the far future—2015??? Flying cars, robot-run gas stations, interactive CGI celebrity café servers, and power-lacing sneakers were promised. So far, all our cars still obey the laws of gravity.

Similarly, the Bible paints a picture of a future where all the tribes and nations of the world come together to worship God. But with over 45,000 different denominations worldwide, it sure seems like unity among Christians is no more realistic than an ’80s sci-fi comedy. Still, it seems that Jesus calls us to live as though this future vision of unity is already here.

At Remedy 2025 – Every Nation: United Vision, United Voices, we’re going to dive deep into what it means to be invited to the most spectacular party in the cosmos. Speakers will share their insights and stories of living as part of God’s Kingdom today and what that means in a world where traditional Christian views of the future clash with cultural values and attitudes.

Beyond engaging teaching, you’ll have five days of connection with students from campuses across the Northeast—learning through workshops and electives, experiencing times of musical worship, and enjoying plenty of fun.

We hope you’ll join us for Remedy 2025 – Every Nation: United Vision, United Voices as we figure out how to operate in God’s promised future—today!

Weekly Workshop for ministry planning.

Choose ONE workshop to attend for the entire retreat. These lessons build on each other, so it is important to attend each one.

Uniquely You

We will use multiple tools, including the Enneagram and Strengths Finder, to understand how God uniquely made you and what that means for your relationships, work, conflict resolution styles, and (most importantly) your relationship with God.

Sharing Your Faith

The idea of evangelism is often intimidating, misunderstood and poorly modeled today. Join this workshop if you want to have a whole new and encouraging perspective on how natural it should be to share our faith in love. As Christians we need to be strategic in all that we do, say, and pray. Come ready to be challenged and empowered to let Christ's light shine bright in your life

Justice

This workshop will emphasize a holistic approach to justice—addressing not only systemic issues but also personal transformation and community engagement. Through group discussions, reflective exercises, and practical applications, participants will learn how to embody their faith in pursuit of equity and healing in their communities. Whether you’re a seasoned activist or new to the conversation, this workshop invites you to deepen your understanding and commitment to justice through a biblical lens.

Small Group Planning and Practce

Believe it or not, a small group is as much a church as a mega-church (maybe more). How can we run small groups in a way that welcomes newcomers, encourages and enables spiritual growth and allows us to commune with each other and Jesus? Our Small Group Workshop will give us opportunities to learn and practice running small groups that engage our students with what the church can and should be.

Daily Electives for personal growth.

Choose elective to attend EACH DAY. Electives are labeled 100, 200, or 300 level to help you choose what serves you best with where you are on your spiritual journey.

Faith Like A Child (100): Enjoy watching the world through the lens of a toddler? Let's talk about how our relationship with God can relate to that of a relationship with a parent and their children.

Redemptive Business (200): People often talk about the sacred and secular divide. God has made everything in its time to glorify him. This elective will discuss the call of God on your life and how to live that out based on how he's made you to be.

Finding the Right Hills to Die on (part 1) (200): Which doctrines are important? Which are not so much? Why does it seem people can do battle over everything? What does it look like to handle, with integrity and transparency, personal differences of conviction that may arise with your church, boss, denomination, or institution? We're going to survey a book by Gavin Ortland that may give some answers. This is a two part elective. Part two is on Saturday. Please register for both.

A Common Man's Comments on Commentaries (300): With all of the different interpretations of scripture, putting together your own Bible study from scratch that does more than just scratch the surface can be tricky. This elective will teach you how to avoid common misconceptions, inaccurate translations, and improper interpretations of scripture. You’ll learn some of the ways you can create your own insightful, in-depth, and educational Bible studies using online resources, commentaries, and your own discernment.

Add Some More Prayer (100): We're called to pray without ceasing, but it's very common for many of us to live without prayer. Whether you only pray before eating, feel like your prayers are too simple, are afraid to pray in groups, or have been avoiding prayer altogether because it's intimidating, you're seen and God knows. In this class, we'll look to the Bible to teach us how to pray and pray confidently in any and every situation!

Christians & Social Justice - What Is Our Role? (200): Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks are civil rights heroes, and they were also Christians. Today, we see a group of people that claim Christianity, but oppose justice for others. What is our true role as Christians when we encounter injustice?

Jonah: More than a story about a fish (200): What do you know about the book of Jonah? This minor prophet story holds an interesting perspective on God's plan for forgiveness and restoration for all people, even when we don't feel like it should be.

Psalm 23 And Me (200): Psalm 23 is a favorite Scripture passage for many people. But what does it truly mean for us to have God as our Shepherd? If you lack experience with sheep, but still want to understand the deeper meaning of this psalm, this elective is for you! We will be using the book "A Shepherd Looks at Psalm 23" to learn some fun facts, dig deep into the metaphors of this passage, and get a better understanding of the invitation Jesus offers us.

Finding the Right Hills to Die On pt 2 (300): Which doctrines are important? Which are not so much? Why does it seem people can do battle over everything? What does it look like to handle, with integrity and transparency, personal differences of conviction that may arise with your church, boss, denomination, or institution? We're going to survey a book by Gavin Ortland that may give some answers. This is a two part elective. Part one is on Friday. Please register for both.

Improv is Grace (learning failure) Part 1 (100): If you want to learn how to show grace (to yourself and co-workers) then improv gives you the tools. It is not just making jokes and being funny, it is holy and creative exercises that promote community, honesty, and humility. Not only is this a 2-part elective, but we will be showcasing what we learned with a 15 minute show. This is a two part elective. Part two is on Monday. You do not need to register for both, but it is recommended.

Is Christianity a White Religion? (100): The answer is yes and no. Yes, because at times the white American church has confused Jesus’ message to his followers with their own culture, excluding other people groups. No, because Jesus made it clear that his church was to be made up from “every nation, tribe, people and language” (Rev. 7:9). This elective will consider the damage done to Jesus’ cause when it is confused with one particular culture and discuss ways to make the church the truly diverse reality Jesus intended it to be

A Deep Dive into Biblical Love (200): With the business and overuse of the word love, it is difficult to discern what love really is. In this elective, we'll be diving into Agape, Phileo, and Eros-- how they differ and how they are affected by God and sin. So if you're wrestling with questions like, what's biblical love? How does love differ between people? Or how is lusting different from love? come join us, we'd LOVE to see you there!

Saved Through Water (Baptism, Noah's Ark, and Peter) (300): Exploring the connection between Baptism, Noah’s Ark and the significance of Peter being the one who made this connection for us in scripture.

Improv is Grace (learning community) Part 2 (100): If you want to learn how to show grace (to yourself and co-workers) then improv gives you the tools. It is not just making jokes and being funny, it is holy and creative exercises that promote community, honesty, and humility. Not only is this a 2-part elective, but we will be showcasing what we learned with a 15 minute show. This is a two part elective. Part one is on Sunday. You do not need to register for both, but it is recommended.

God, Sex, and the Bible (200): What does the Bible teach us about sex? What does "sexual immorality" mean? How do we handle sexual temptation? What if we've already had sexual experiences? What makes married sex special? We will answer these questions and more from a Biblical perspective and our lived experiences.

Women in Ministry (200): In todays' culture, there are often many conflicting messages about the role of women in ministry, leaving people confused about what God truly says regarding a woman's place in the church and the body of Christ. Society can distort or misrepresent God's design for women, making it difficult to discern the truth. This elective seeks to address the issue by creating a space for learning and open discussion, where we explore the different roles and types of women the Bible speaks about. Together, we aim to understand the God-given purpose and the necessary roles women have within the church, ministry, and the broader body of Christ.

4 Gospels, 1 Story? (300): Why do we have four different versions of the story of Jesus? Do they contradict each other? How does the author and their original audience shape each Gospel? We will take a look at the differences and similarities between Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John and discuss why this matters to us today.
