Remedy 2026

Remedy 2026

A light that shines out

You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

-Matthew 5:14-16

“Sharing your faith…”

“Spreading the Gospel…”

“Preaching the Good News…”

“Evangelism”

Do these words and phrases inspire you or stress you out?  Do you get a little sweaty when the preacher tells you that your witness could be someone’s last hope of meeting God? It can feel like a lot of pressure.

When Jesus commands his followers to spread the Gospel, he isn’t laying a heavy burden on them, but inviting them to be partners in building His kingdom.  Sharing Christ isn’t about converting classmates, cousins, or complete strangers in a rush to become a better Christian. It’s about living life fully with God and letting what He ignites in you shine out.  Love for others, joy during trials, and faithfulness in the face of temptation are counter-cultural behaviors that shine bright for people who feel distant from God and are looking for hope.

Remedy 2026 – A Light That Shines Out: The Good News That Keeps Going.

We’re going to spend the week re-remembering the Gospel.  At the core of the gospel is God’s great love for people.  Through teaching, worship, small groups, electives, workshops, and having a whole lot of fun, we’ll spend the week exploring who God created us to be, and what he created us to do.

His light is already in you. You just have to let it shine.

Weekly Workshop for ministry planning.

Choose ONE workshop to attend for the entire retreat. These lessons build on each other, so it is important to attend each one.

Uniquely You

We will use multiple tools, including the Enneagram and Strengths Finder, to understand how God uniquely made you and what that means for your relationships, work, conflict resolution styles, and (most importantly) your relationship with God.

Sharing Your Faith

The idea of evangelism is often intimidating, misunderstood and poorly modeled today. Join this workshop if you want to have a whole new and encouraging perspective on how natural it should be to share our faith in love. As Christians we need to be strategic in all that we do, say, and pray. Come ready to be challenged and empowered to let Christ's light shine bright in your life

Discipleship

Jesus tells us to “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations...” (Matthew 28:19), but what does that actually look like today? How do I know if I'm even qualified to do this? Let's take a look at what discipleship means and how to practically execute it.

Spiritual Growth Theater

Spiritual Growth Theater is a workshop that blends improv, games, and theater into faith. By playing and acting on a stage, we can explore biblical issues like disappointment, fear, self-control, teamwork, and failure. Students will also get to take what they learn in the workshop and showcase in front of an audience at our graduation. This workshop is guaranteed to be funny, outrageous, and imaginative, but it will also push your boundaries about faith in the real world.

Daily Electives for personal growth.

Choose elective to attend EACH DAY. Electives are labeled 100, 200, or 300 level to help you choose what serves you best with where you are on your spiritual journey.

"God, Who Are You?" (100): When you think of God, what comes to mind? An old guy in the sky that doesn't get what you're going through? An angry referee keeping score of your sins and good deeds? In this elective, we will debunk these perceptions of God and search for who God truly is.

Psalm 23 & Me (200): Psalm 23 is a favorite Scripture passage for many people. But what does it truly mean for us to have God as our Shepherd? If you lack experience with sheep, but still want to understand the deeper meaning of this psalm, this elective is for you! We will be using the book "A Shepherd Looks at Psalm 23" to learn some fun facts, dig deep into the metaphors of this passage, and get a better understanding of the hope Jesus offers us.

The Dead Sea Scrolls (200): What are the Dead Sea Scrolls? How do they impact our faith & trust in the Bible? If you want to learn & grow in your confidence of the Bible's trustworthiness, come to this elective!

Hiding In Plain Sight: Jesus Before the Manger (300): Most people think Jesus first shows up in a stable, but He was actually there from page one. Was He just "tacked on" at the end, or was the Old Testament whispering His name for centuries? We’re going on a scavenger hunt through the Law and the Prophets to find the shadows, symbols, and "secret cameos" that point to Jesus. Come see why He’s the Hero of the whole story, not just the ending.

The Prayer Lab: Building a Habit of Connection in a Chaotic World (100): Prayer can seem intimidating or just tough to build into a consistent habit. Come explore different ways of praying and reflecing on scripture. Let's figure out how you can be in connection with God and find peace in a rhythym of communication.

Fear or Love: Why Do I Follow Jesus? (200): "Am I following Jesus just because I don't want to go to hell?" is a question that I've been faced with, and perhaps you have as well. In this elective, we will investigate the Gospel, our own intentions, and what the Scriptures say to hopefully escape the immense weight of our fear of condemnation.

Hills To Die On (200): What are the "core doctrines" of Christianity? What makes a main thing main? Are there "hills" worth fighting for? We'll look at the idea of "theological triage" and how to apply it.

Difficult Things in the Bible and What To Do With Them (200): Do you ever notice that the Bible has curveballs, speed bumps, and some absolutely outrageous stories? It can cause doubts about scripture's integrity. We will look at difficult and contested Bible verses and wrestle with their meaning to gain a better understanding of the God of the Bible.

Saved Through Water? (Baptism, Noah's Ark, and Peter) (300): Looking at one of the most confusing and contested passages in scripture, we'll be exploring the connection between Baptism, Noah’s Ark and the significance of Peter being the person who made this connection for us in scripture

Faith Like a Child (100): Enjoy watching the world through the lens of toddler. Let's talk about how our relationship with God can relate to that of a relationship with a parent and their children.

Mental & Spiritual Health - Hand in Hand (200): We’re ditching the "I’m fine" mask to talk about isolation, struggles with mental health, and the need for professional and spiritual support. There is life-changing power in being known by others and known by a God who provides hope and peace. Join us as we learn to reflect on our thoughts, deepen internal awareness, and find healing in community. Let’s explore the transformative and tangible help that God provides to all who follow him; both in the Bible and for us today.

God, Sex, and the Bible (200): What does the Bible teach us about sex? What does "sexual immorality" mean? How do we handle sexual temptation? What if we've already had sexual experiences? What makes married sex special? We will answer these questions and more from a Biblical perspective and our lived experiences.

Bible Study-ing: More Than Just Cross References (300): With all of the different interpretations of scripture, putting together your own Bible study from scratch that does more than just scratch the surface can be tricky. This elective will teach you how to avoid common misconceptions, inaccurate translations, and questionable interpretations of scripture. You’ll learn some of the ways you can create your own insightful, in-depth, and educational Bible studies using online resources, commentaries, and your own discernment.

Singled Out (100): Society has often put romantic relationships on a pedestal, creating a lot of insecurities and anxieties for people in and not in a relationship. Unfortunately, this idea has seeped into the church as well, making single people feel they are incomplete and have to rush to find someone. This often leads to feeling bitter toward people in a relationship and the idea of marriage. But are those the only two options? If you've ever felt like being single wasn't enough, this may be the elective for you, because God wants us to feel right at home where He has us.

Finding Family: Living in Christian Community (200): Do you ever feel alone as a Christian? We were never meant to follow Jesus alone! The apostle Paul called Christians "the household of God." But how can we live as a family that isn't dysfunctional? We will look at what the community of believers is meant to look like and examine six core practices that promote healthy Christian community: truth-telling, promise-keeping, forgiveness, gratitude, testimony, and hospitality.

Finding Peace Within the Storm: Suffering & Forgiveness (200): Whether we’re suffering because of the actions of others or because of our own mistakes, we can look to scripture for how to glorify God while suffering as a Christian. By walking through the stories of Joseph and Peter, we’ll learn how to use our own stories of suffering and forgiveness when evangelizing and telling others about how Jesus has changed the way we respond to suffering and the need for forgiveness for ourselves and others.

The Crescent and the Cross: An Exploration on Islam and Christianity (300): There are huge differences between Islam and Christianity...as well as many similarities. We will explore the fundamentals (5 pillars) of Islam, how they compare to following Jesus, and help you understand the culture and mindset of Muslim college-aged students across the US as well some effective ways to talk to them.
