Remedy 2024
Learning to Love in All the Right Ways
Remedy 2024
May 23-28
Irresistibly Attractive: Learning to love in all the right ways is about how we connect with people around us, how we live authentically in relationship with others, how we can abandon ego, hypocrisy (virtue signaling/highlight reeling on social media) and superficiality. We’ll talk about how to live in a way that allows you to develop relationships that are genuine, healthy, encouraging and long-lasting. We’ll cover topics like social media, setting boundaries, what intimacy actually means and how Jesus sets the perfect example of the kind of relationship we all want to have with one another.

Weekly Workshop for ministry planning.
Choose ONE workshop to attend for the entire retreat. These lessons build on each other, so it is important to attend each one.
Uniquely You
We will use multiple tools, including the Enneagram and Strengths Finder, to understand how God uniquely made you and what that means for your relationships, work, conflict resolution styles, and (most importantly) your relationship with God.
Sharing Your Faith
The idea of evangelism is often intimidating, misunderstood and poorly modeled today. Join this workshop if you want to have a whole new and encouraging perspective on how natural it should be to share our faith in love. As Christians we need to be strategic in all that we do, say, and pray. Come ready to be challenged and empowered to let Christ's light shine bright in your life
Discipleship
Jesus tells us to “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations...” (Matthew 28:19), but what does that actually look like today? How do I know if I'm even qualified to do this? Let's take a look at what discipleship means and how to practically execute it.

Daily Electives for personal growth.
Choose elective to attend EACH DAY. Electives are labeled 100, 200, or 300 level to help you choose what serves you best with where you are on your spiritual journey.
Health, Fitness, & Faith (100): What does the Bible say about physical health and fitness? Should Christians care about physical health and fitness? If so, what should be our focus and where should we start? Come explore this topic and these questions and see what God thinks!
The Politically Frustrated Christian (200): Social media, our family, and traditions try to push or pull us toward a political party, but what does the Bible say about supporting a politician? We will search the scriptures and find that we have more freedom in our choices when we seek with God's heart.
Women in Ministry and Leadership (200): What does the Bible say about women in ministry and leadership? More than you might think! Let's explore multiple passages from the Old and New Testaments to answer this question.
Four Gospels, One Story (300): Why do we have four different versions of the story of Jesus? Do they contradict each other? We will take a look at the differences and similarities between Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John and discuss why this matters to us today.
The Art of Using Questions (100): Why did Jesus ask more questions than he answered? Why did Jesus often answer a question with a question? Asking questions not only gives us more information but also makes others think deeper. In this elective we will learn how to use questions in sharing our faith, in encouraging other believers, in deescalating conflict, and more. We will look at Jesus' strategy and learn how we can model it.
The Ultimate Makeover: A New Identity in Christ (200): What does the Bible say about your identity in Christ? Many Christians say they find their identity in Jesus, but they are bringing things with them that muddy the waters. Whether it's their political affiliation, their financial status, or their value on society, we as humans tend to make things we like seem more familiar by making them more like us. But is that what identifying with Christ is supposed to look like? Let's talk about the importance of changing to be like Jesus rather than trying to change Jesus to look more like us.
Misadventures in thinking too Christian-Stories and scripture to help you avoid being the wrong kind of weird (200): The Christian faith has always had a reputation of being a counter cultural movement. The Kingdom of God demands an allegiance that rejects conformity to worldly values and loyalties. But does that mean we’re supposed to make ourselves intolerable to other people? Is it possible to be a “weird Christian” that even Jesus rolls his eyes at?We’ll examine and discuss scriptures that show us how to live different in a way that invites questions rather than causing folks to avoid us and hopefully get a better idea how to be weird like Jesus.
Saved Through Water (Baptism, Noah's Ark, and Peter) (300): Exploring the connection between Baptism, Noah’s Ark, and the significance of Peter being the one who made this connection for us in scripture.
Hey, are you single? (100): Do you find yourself feeling bitter toward couples? Do you find yourself feeling desperate to get into a relationship yourself? Or do you find the idea of being in a relationship overrated? The world that we live in puts such an emphasis on finding someone to love that it makes being single feel like something you should rush through by any means necessary. That's not the way it should be. Even though you're single, you're not alone! And you can have just as much joy without a romantic relationship. Learn to live and love your life while single with tips and a whole lot of the Word.
Faith Like a Child (100): Let's uncover the joy, authenticity, simplicity, and curiosity of having faith like a child together.
Jonah-More than a story about a fish (200): What do you know about the book of Jonah? This minor profit story holds an interesting perspective on God's plan for forgiveness and restoration is for all people, even when we don't feel like it should be.
Triune Monotheism? (300): How is God one yet three? Why do some call Christians polytheists? What exactly is the Trinity? How can we best explain it to others? In this elective we will attempt to better understand the nature of God (God the Father, God the Son and God the Spirit) based on multiple scriptures.
How to Read the Bible (100): We often hear that it’s important to read the Bible, but it can be a confusing and overwhelming book! Where do you start? How do you read it to get the most out of it? And most importantly, why is it so important? Join us as we answer these questions, share resources that help us understand the Bible, and see how the different parts of the Bible forms one continuous love story between God and His people.
Marriage Myths Revealed (100): Many of us hope to be married someday, but what does it really take to have a healthy marriage? Let's uncover some of the harmful expectations we have of marriage and create a hopeful, Christ-centered picture of marriage.
Becoming a Transformational Leader (200): Reinvent and empower your personal leadership and ministry by exploring one central question – what does it mean to be a leader? Most people learn a set of strategies and tactics but are frustrated when the situations and people don’t line up to accommodate their knowledge base. We engage how you are thinking about yourself and others to open new possibilities for conversation and action. This training is designed to allow you to discover the automatic assumptions that influence your decision-making power.
Does the Old Testament really or actually refer to Jesus? (300): In this elective we will investigate deep into the Old Testament scrolls to see if or where Jesus is referenced, prophesied about, and/or physically present. A better understanding of the Old Testament will help give you a refreshed appreciation for the New Testament.
